The Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential, awarded by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), signifies a coach's foundational proficiency in core coaching competencies, ethical standards, and the ICF's definition of coaching. This credential is ideal for individuals beginning their coaching careers, those practicing part-time, or professionals integrating coaching methodologies into their existing roles.

Introducing the New ACC Exam

In November 2024, ICF introduced a dedicated ACC Exam, replacing the previous requirement for ACC candidates to take the general ICF Credentialing Exam. This new exam is tailored to assess the specific knowledge and skills pertinent to ACC candidates, ensuring a more accurate evaluation of their coaching competencies.
Exam Structure and Content
The ACC Exam comprises 60 multiple-choice questions, divided into two sections of 30 questions each, with an optional 10-minute break in between. Candidates have a total of 90 minutes to complete the exam. Each question presents a scenario related to coaching practices, followed by four response options, with only one correct answer.

Eligibility Criteria for ACC Credential

To apply for the ACC credential, you must fulfill the following:

Graduate from an ICF-accredited program such as Level 1 certification offered by Cocoweave Coaching International.

Accumulate a minimum of 100 hours of coaching practice, including 75 hours with paid clients.

Complete 10 hours of mentor coaching with an ICF-credentialed coach over a minimum of three months.

Complete 10 hours of mentor coaching with a PCC- or MCC-credentialed coach over at least three months.
